LT Automation provided the service to supply, install, configure and commission the Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation for PREPA’s Units 5 and 6 of the San Juan Power Complex. The Bruel & Kjaer Vibro’s Setpoint® system is a state-of-the-art Machine Protection System to measure, evaluate and automatically notify the operations personnel of abnormal vibrations of the Gas and Steam Turbo-generators in order to prevent potentially catastrophic, multimillion-dollar failures. It is designed to continuously monitor and analyze dynamic data and store it in the PI System for real-time or future review. Its CMS allows for easy export of batch data to vibration analysts anywhere in the world, avoiding costly downtime and saving and money.
